Who is it for?
This course will improve managers working relationships by understanding the importance of a positive approach to problem people. Delegates will be able to explore new ways of handling and understanding interpersonal relationships and the motivation of others and to improve initiative, empathy, acceptability and influencing skills.Course Objectives
To enhance your ability to manage difficult people and their behaviour. Develop specific strategies for conflict resolution. Recognise classic profiles of difficult people and strategies for handling them. Recognise the impact of difficult behaviours and common approaches to resolving the issues. Pre-empt challenging situations and avoid escalating them further. Develop communication skills designed to improve the ability to resolve and overcome differences. Give and receive feedback effectively. Define and consider the positive and negative aspects of conflict at work.Programme Overview
To explore personal perception and how it affects our judgement of people. To help delegates recognise familiar patterns of behaviour associated with conflict. To illustrate ways of working with our own feelings and those of others. Consider ways of assessing 'difficult situations' and discussing 3 step approaches to defusing difficult situations. Consider coping strategies for handling difficult team members and bosses.
